Welcome to our brand new ELF Pronunciation blog!

Our aim is to make pronunciation more relevant for students whose main aim is to communicate in an ELF context (where English is the lingua franca). We hope to inspire and encourage other teachers to consider the implications of ELF by sharing ideas from our own classrooms.

Scroll down to find out more about adapting and creating activities to help students of different L1s to better understand each other, including:

  • how to choose which pronunciation features to prioritise in an ELF context
  • how to conduct an ELF pronunciation needs analysis
  • how to design an ELF pronunciation syllabus
  • free downloadable activities

Watch this space for more resources coming soon, including worksheets, audio recordings, videos of activities in action, and case studies.

Thanks for stopping by!
